SIA the Subaru zero landfill plant has found a better way to save money and the environment. Styrofoam is one of packing materials used to transfer parts. The company was looking for a better way to save it and one of the workers came up with the idea of sending it back and reusing it. Subaru and Yosemite Goal For No Public Trash in National Parks

Subaru has made major strives in sustainability, Not only does Subaru have a plant (SIA) that emits zero landfill and has not since May 2004 but they also have strongly supported a campaign with the Yosemite National Park to get the public to stop trashing in National Parks. Green initiative is a major part of the companies focus, they have taken it upon themselves to make this their corporate responsibility.

A Passion For Responsibility

  Subaru of America believes it has a responsibility to give back to the community and strives to do so in a variety of ways.  Over the past five years, new Subaru owners have helped Subaru of America donate nearly $25 million during the Share the Love event.  This money has been donated to several organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, and the United Service Organization Inc.  Subaru looks forward to continuing this event and donating more money to charities…
