Engine and Chassis
The Impreza comes standard with a 2.0 liter, four cylinder boxer engine with 148 hp and plenty of 
torque for all of your adventures. It also comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission but with 
an option to upgrade to Subaru's unique Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). If 
you're concerned about the environmental impact that your car will have, no need to worry because the Impreza is a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) with minimal environmental impact.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD), Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a Traction Control System (TCS) and electrically assisted power steering all come standard to help keep your Subaru on the road when the conditions get a little hairy.

In terms of fuel economy, the 5-speed manual version gets an estimated 34/25 MPG and the CVT 
version gets an estimated 37/28 MPG (hwy/city).

There are also many standard passive safety features like the side-curtain and driver’s knee airbags, fully adjustable head restraints and rear child safety locks on the doors.
