In upstate New York you never know when that first snowflake will fly and with fall just around the corner it is a perfect time to get your Subaru vehicle ready for our harsh Oneonta winter weather ahead. Here are some tips and helpful reminders that will get you Weather ready!

1.    Battery: It is advised to replace your battery if it is more than three years old.The cold weather can be harsh on your battery so it is wise to check your charging system.

2.    Heater, defroster, wiper blades: What could more important then checking your heat! No one wants to be caught in upstate weather with a broken heater. The fall is a good time to check your air filters and make sure all is working well. Don't forget to check those wiper blades. Definitely replace them if they are more than six months old. Lastly check to make sure you are full on wiper fluid.

3.    Tires:With frequent weather and temperature changes tires can expand and contract causing them to lose air pressure. Make sure to check your tire pressure, depth and have plenty of tread.

4.    Brakes: Brakes are important when driving on icy or snow covered roads. Get those breaks checked and ready for the harsh winter!

Don't forget to also have some basic car supplies in case of a weather emergency!

Ice Scraper and Brush
